Since the release of the ENDF/B-VI nuclear data file by the International Atomic Energy Agency to the nuclear community, there has been a great deal of interest in accessing this file and in evaluating its impact on analyses of benchmark experiments. The ENDF/B-VI file gives an increased scope of nuclear data, such as data for the iron, nickel, and chromium isotopes, a new representation (the Reich-Moore formalism), and an extended range in the resolved resonance region for the main actinides, as well as a new representation (double-differential cross sections) of the energy-angle distribution for the particle emission spectrum in the fast neutron energy region. At the same time, however, ENDF/B-VI has brought new complications since most of the preprocessing codes were not able to access this fiel at the time of its release.
