This document is based on a series of workshops conducted to improve engineering practice, education, and research in the field of occupational safety and health. Included are (1) a brief historical review of of occupational safety and health engineering, (2) an outline of occupational hazard control information needed by practicing engineers and related professionals, (3) a summary of educational needs in this field, (4) a discussion of needed research on engineering control, and (5) a consolidated list of high priority recommendations for action.
