The B W owners' group plant control system test facility

When the Babcock Wilcox (B W) Owners' Group (BWOG) decided to test a prototype of a plant control system (PCS), the owners allocated a budget to purchase the hardware, and plans were laid to select a test facility. The hardware purchase was initiated in 1989. In 1990, the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) inaugurated the Tailored Collaboration Program, which could provide matching funds from EPRI for research and development projects that could benefit all utilities. The B W Owners entered into a common tailored collaboration agreement with EPRI.
