Neutralization with aqueous sodium hydroxide is currently being investigated as a candidate method for demilitarization of mustard (HD) stockpiles. Variations in reaction product heterogeneity led to the determination of the solubility of selected components of the reactant mixture. The results of solubility studies completed on aqueous mixtures of HD/thiodiglycol and sodium chloride/thiodiglycol are presented.
