Hazardous waste from small-quantity generators in the United States

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6653989
The EPA must evaluate the potential impact of small-quantity-generator hazardous waste on groundwater contamination in the United States, focusing on potential groundwater contamination due to small-quantity-generator hazardous-waste disposal in municipal sanitary landfills. Data were analyzed from approximately 20,000 small-quantity hazardous-waste generators located within all 67 counties in the State of Florida. The Florida data provide a useful representation of the hazardous-waste generation and management practices of small quantity generators in the United States. The small-quantity-generator hazardous-waste study described has identified the types of waste that pose a potential threat to groundwater in the State of Florida.
