The Auger Observatory presents novel challenges for triggering and data acquisition. The large area (3,000 km{sup 2} for each of 2 sites) and large number of sensors (1,600 per site) make the use of traditional wired connections impractical. In this paper the author describes trigger and data acquisition systems incorporating radio links which have been designed for the Auger Observatory.
