Mobil's first venture into coal mining will recover 95% of the coal from its Rojos Caballos mine in Wyoming's Powder River Basin. The new mine should yield 20 million tons a year during its 26-year lifetime. Mobil also plans to meet all Federal and state environmental rules and to return the site to its original state with a reclamation program that continuously replaces stripped and stockpiled soil. The top six inches of soil will be removed and separated from the overburden so that it can be returned intact and reseeded with native prairie grass. (DCK)
