Chernobyl: Insight from the inside
Book
·
OSTI ID:6648168
The author dispenses with the usual detachment of historical analysis and tells what happened in Chernobyl in April through the unshielded and horrified perceptions and largely unedited language of those who were there. A common thread running through the book is the duplicity of Soviet officials, particularly in reference to the 650,000 emergency workers. The author maintains that the accident would have been avoided if the reactor design had not been inherently flawed, unadmitted by Soviet officials.
