The energy distribution of H[sup [minus]] produced at a low work function surface in a cesiated hydrogen discharge were measured with a magnetic momentum analyzer. The converter bias was changed from 0 to 150 V to see the difference in energy spectrum of H[sup [minus]] ions. In addition to the peak corresponding to the energy of the converter, the peak at the energy equivalent to the potential of the plama electrode was found in the spectrum. The amount of the H[sup [minus]] current of this energy group was larger than the H[sup [minus]] current produced at the converter surface, when the bias to the plasma electrode was properly adjusted.
