Search for narrow p-barp states in the reactions p-barp. -->. p-barp. pi. /sup 0/ and p-barprho/sup 0/ at 5 GeV/c

A search for narrow p-barp states (width < or approx. =20 MeV/c/sup 2/) has been conducted in the Brookhaven National Laboratory multiparticle spectrometer. No significant structure has been observed in events where the p-barp system has been produced forward in the laboratory. Upper-limit cross sections (95% confidence level) for p-barp masses below 2.2 GeV/c/sup 2/ are < or =0.12 ..mu..b and < or =0.22 ..mu..b for the final states p-barp..pi../sup 0/ and p-barprho/sup 0/, respectively.
