The data on the inelastic nucleon--nucleus cross section at superhigh energies are discussed. The atmospheric hadronic cascade model is studied taking into account a logarithmic growth of the inelastic cross sections with energy and the production of pions, kaons, and nucleons in pion-nucleus collisions. It is shown that the inclusion of the reaction ..pi..A..-->..KX noticeably affects the value of the k/..pi.. ratio at muon and neutrino effective-generation altitudes. The results of the calculation are in good agreement with the experimental data on the hadronic component of cosmic rays at energies Eapprox. >1 TeV.
