Program solicitation: Small-Business Innovation Research program. Closing date, March 1, 1983
The Department of Energy (DOE) invites small business firms to submit energy-related research proposals under this program solicitation entitled Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR). Firms with strong research capabilities in science or engineering in any of the topic areas described in Appendix E are encouraged to participate. DOE will support high quality research or research and development proposals on advanced concepts related to important energy-related scientific or engineering problems and opportunities that could lead to significant public benefit if the research is successful. Objectives of the solicitation include stimulating technological innovation in the private sector, strengthening the role of small business in meeting federal research and development needs, increasing the commercial application of DOE-supported research results, and improving the return on investment from federally funded research for economic and social benefits to the nation.
