Observation of high-order solitons from a mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser

I report the observation of high-order solitonlike femtosecond pulses directly generated in an absorber jet-induced self-mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser. A soliton period of [similar to]1 MHz was observed with a nearly linear dependence on the intracavity dispersion.
