A drill steel idler guide is described which has an internal sleeve rotatably supported in a base by means of ball bearings fitting in opposed annular grooves in the sleeve and base. The sleeve has a bore through which a drill stem can slidably fit. Means are provided for directing pressure air through the base and into annular space between the base and the sleeves to keep dust, grit, etc., from the idler guide and bearing surfaces. (3 claims)
