Nucleon--nucleon bremsstrahlung experiments. [Review]

The present status of recent bremsstrahlung experiments and their comparison with theoretical calculations is reviewed. A significant disagreement with predictions based on the Hamada--Johnston potential is observed. It is also pointed out that experimental techniques exist which would make it possible to perform very accurate and comprehensive bremsstrahlung experiments.
