The primary objectives of this research were: (1) to extend the bristlecone pine chronology from the White Mountains of California beyond 6700 B.C. and strengthen it by incorporating additional specimens; (2) to develop bristlecone pine chronologies in new areas for applications in archeology, isotopic and studies, and other sciences; and (3) to furnish dendiochronology dated wood to researchers engaged in the study of past variations in carbon isotopes and climate. Areas studied include: White Mountain, Ca.; Indian Garden and Mount Jefferson, Nev.; and Mammoth Creek, Utah. 2 references, 12 tables.
