The work performed in the period 1 June 1982 to 31 August 1982 has been mainly directed to putting into operation an atmospheric fluidized bed combustor 370 mm ID and carrying out preliminary experiments. This equipment shall be used to check the correlations for bed carbon attrition rates found on a laboratory scale and to investigate elutriation phenomena.
