Waste management quarterly report, January--March 1978

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6619607

Long-term waste management studies in progress are: characterization of suspended solids in simulated Savannah River Plant (SRP) waste, centrifugal separation of simulated SRP waste, vitrification of simulated SRP sludge by in-can melting, viscosity of glass melts, mathematical models for the electric field in electric glass melters, volatilization of ruthenium from borosilicate glass melts, ion chromatographic analysis of off-gas scrubber solutions from the glass melter, and /sup 99/Tc and mercury in decontaminated salt. Interim waste management studies include: a conceptual geohydrological model of the separations area, soil erosion at the burial ground, effect of radiogenic gases on the integrity drums of TRU waste, and chemical dissolving of Tank 16H sludge.
