This paper outlines the design and implementation of an advanced Operator Training Simulator (OTS) based on the OTS developed for the Electric Power Research institute (EPRI). This simulator is the first of its kind in implementing EPRI OTS on workstations having been integrated with full-fledged control center functions. The control center model is a replica of the Consolidated Edison's Energy Management System Control Center functions. The new enhancements made to the EPRI OTS in Con-Edison implementation are described along with instructor experience.
