The alarming price tag on greenhouse legislation

This article discusses the costs of reducing emissions of carbon dioxide. Some economists estimate a present value of $800 billion to $3.6 trillion over the next century. Some argue that large reductions could be achieved for a fraction of this cost. Some economists worry that carbon dioxide reductions in the United States face international complications; developing countries have immediate problems greater than global warming. Most agree that savings will come only if there is an economic reason for controls.
