Technological cw CO/sub 2/ laser with a nonself-sustained discharge

A closed-cycle cw CO/sub 2/ laser with a nonself-sustained discharge was constructed; its output power was up to 18 kW and the volume of the active zone was 3 liters. The principal discharge and optical characteristics of the laser were determined.
