International Conference on Fourier Transform Spectroscopy, 7th, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA, June 19-23, 1989

Conference ·
OSTI ID:6608400
Recent advances in Fourier-transform spectroscopy (FTS) and its applications are discussed in reviews and reports, with an emphasis on biomedical applications; abstracts only are provided for some conference presentations. Topics addressed include fast time-resolved FTS with rapid-scan interferometers, FTIR measurements of minor atmospheric constituents, high-resolution FIR FTS of the stratosphere, photoacoustic FTIR detection of external lubricants in styrenic polymers, circular dichroism measurement using FT interferometry, artifacts in FT Raman spectroscopy, and FTS using surface EM waves with aperture excitation. Consideration is given to vibrational circular dichroism of simple chiral molecules in the gas phase, reflection spectroscopy with the FTIR microscope, double-modulation techniques in FTIR photoluminescence, FTS of O3 in the 3-micron region, interactive spectrum analysis in high-resolution FTS, and FTS of alkali-metal impurities in Si and Ge.
