A ring assembly is described for use in a combustion of a cylindrical gas laser, the assembly comprising: primary rings connected to form the ring assembly, each of the primary rings having alternating about an inside surface reactant injector sets and diluent injector sets. Each of the reactant injector sets inputs an oxidizer and a fuel into a reacting zone to form a reactant jet of the products within a combustion chamber within the combustor. Each of the diluent injector sets inputs a diluent into a mixing zoning to form a jet of diluent within the combustion chamber, the mixing zone being substantially closer to a centerline of the combustion chamber than the reacting zone.
