The slitless spectroscopy technique was used to search for quasars in a 0.74-square-degree field near 3C 345 at the prime focus of the CFHT. Twenty-three probable quasars were discovered, including four quasars which are serendipitous Einstein sources. The results indicate that many more quasars, particularly those of low redshift, can be detected in good seeing conditions by the particular grating/emulsion combination used than has been possible with other similar instruments.
