A facility is under construction to be used to recover liquefied gas that is now being wasted in offshore wells in Indonesia is described. It is permanently moored at one point in the Java Sea on this single-buoy mooring. The hull is a large concrete box. The overall dimensions are: length, 460 ft; depth, 56 ft; width, 136 ft; and displacement, about 65,000 tons. Liquefied gas is stored inside a total of twelve tanks, six of which are above-deck. There are an additional six tanks in compartments inside the hull. The volume of gas stored is 375,000 barrels, which is 60,000 cubic meters, or 36,000 tons, at a density of 0.6. There is an accommodations module for forty people and a major liquefaction plant on the stern. Undersea pipelines bring the gas from the wells and up through the single-buoy mooring, through a swivel and onboard. The gas is then processed and liquefied on the stern and stored in these tanks.
