Violent phenomena in the universe
Book

OSTI ID:6588959
The causes of violent events in the universe are considered. The properties of gravity according to Newton and Einstein are first discussed, and the physics of black holes is addressed. Major violent manifestations, including supernovae, pulsars, X-ray sources, active galaxies, radio sources, and quasars are addressed. The big bang is discussed first along conventional lines and then in terms of more exotic theories. 7 references.
