Air Pollution and Acid Rain, Report 11. Effects of air pollution and acid rain on fish, wildlife, and their habitats: critical habitats of threatened and endangered species

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6587207
This report on Critical Habitats of threatened and endangered species is part of a series synthesizing the results of scientific research related to the effects of air pollution and acid deposition on fish and wildlife resources. General aspects of relevant legislation protecting threatened and endangered species and their habitats are described. Major stresses to these species and their supporting habitats are outlined. The bulk of this report describes potential effects of air pollution and acid rain within the following impact categories: effects on food resources, effects on physiology and breeding habitat, and effects on ecosystem structure and function. The geographical range of potential effects is briefly discussed and the report closes with a discussion of relevant topics for further research related to air pollution effects on listed species and their habitats. 51 references, 1 figure, 29 tables.
