Neutral-current anomalies as an indication of dynamical scaling violations

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev., D; (United States)
We exhibit that even within the Weinberg-Salam-Glashow- Iliopoulos-Maiani model ''neutral-current anomalies'' should appear as evidence of the dynamical breakdown of scaling. The behaviors of the differential cross sections at high energies provide the most direct manifestations. Without recourse to the structure of the dynamical breakdown of scaling, we can find its indication by investigating the changes of neutral-current cross sections as functions of the charged-current cross-section ratio. These predictions are compared with those of the heavy-quark model whose flavor-changing neutral currents give rise to the relevant anomalies.
