High-spin stretched states excited in ([ital n],[ital p]) reactions at 300 MeV

Differential cross sections were measured and compared to distorted-wave impulse-approximation calculations for the [ital J][sup [pi]]=4[sup [minus]]([nu][ital d][sub 5/2],[pi][ital p][sub 3/2][sup [minus]1]) state excited in the [sup 12]C([ital n],[ital p])[sup 12]B (4.52 MeV) reaction, the [ital J][sup [pi]]=6[sup [minus]]([nu],[ital f][sub 7/2][pi][ital d][sub 5/2][sup [minus]1]) state excited in the [sup 28]Si([ital n],[ital p])[sup 28]Al (5.175 MeV) reaction, and the [ital J][sup [pi]]=10[sup [minus]]([nu][ital h][sub 11/2],[pi][ital g][sub 9/2][sup [minus]1]) state excited in the [sup 120]Sn([ital n],[ital p])[sup 120]In ([congruent]0.0 MeV) reaction at 300 MeV. We obtained a normalization factor of 0.68 for the [ital J][sup [pi]]=10[sup [minus]]([nu][ital h][sub 11/2],[pi][ital g][sub 9/2][sup [minus]1]) state excited in [sup 120]Sn([ital n],[ital p])[sup 120]In ([congruent]0.0 MeV) reaction; this is the first 1[h bar][omega]'' stretched state known in this mass region.
