Role of potential scattering in the Shiba-Rusinov theory of magnetically doped superconductors

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. B: Condens. Matter; (United States)

The inclusion of potential scattering in Shiba and Rusinov's theory of magnetically doped, isotropic superconductors leaves unchanged the equations relating the thermodynamic and transport properties to the scattering phase shifts, taking into account all the partial waves for the scattering of conduction electrons by the dopant atoms. Also unchanged by the potential scattering are Kunz and Ginsberg's theoretical values for the depression of the superconducting transition temperature.
