Medium-resolution spectra of 11 dwarf novae from within 0-5 days after the peak of an outburst are presented. The results are used to study the development and origin of the emission-line core compared with the broad absorption-line wings. Data from eleven systems are summarized and added to previously published data from IR Gem and IP Peg. The data suggest that there is a prominent inner-disk disturbance for outbursting dwarf novae in the 4-5 hr orbital period range. 37 refs.
