The ASES seeks to promote the widespread near-term use of solar energy. To achieve that goal, ASES, fosters the use of science and technology in the application of solar energy. It also encourages basic and applied research and development in solar energy,and promotes education in fields related to solar energy. The ASES conducts the National Solar Energy Conference as a annual forum for exchange of information about advances in solar energy technologies, programs, and concepts. The conference features speakers who are national leaders in their technical and professional fields and is attended by more than 450 solar energy enthusiasts from throughout the country.
