Threshold photoproduction of. pi. /sup 0/ mesons on the lightest nuclei

The method of evolution in the coupling constant is used to describe the near-threshold photoproduction of ..pi../sup 0/ mesons on the lightest nuclei d, /sup 3/He, /sup 3/H and /sup 6/Li. The sensitivity of the process amplitude to the set of ..pi..N data and to the unitarization of the contribution from elastic ..pi..N scattering is investigated. A quantitative analysis of the influence of double counting in the ..pi.. meson rescattering is performed. The calculated values of the amplitudes are in good agreement with experimental data (in the cases when they are available).
