Air cleaner assembly
An air cleaner assembly is disclosed. The assembly includes a plurality of interconnected wall members which define between them a generally ring-shaped scavenging air chamber. A plurality of centrifugal separators are supported in the scavenging air chamber. Each centrifugal separator includes a first tubular member which has an inlet end for admitting air and an outlet end which is in fluid communication with the scavenging air chamber. Each centrifugal separator also includes a mechanism for swirling air passing through the first tubular member and a second tubular member. The second tubular member has an inlet end adjacent the outlet end of the first tubular member and an outlet end exterior of the scavenging air chamber. A scavenging air outlet port is formed through the cylindrical wall and is adapted to be coupled to a negative pressure source for drawing scavenging air and solid materials intermixed therewith from the scavening air chamber. A pair of discrete conduits are supported within the scavenging air chamber between a pair of adjacent rows of centrifugal separators. The conduits ha first ends respectively, and second ends respectively. The first ends are disposed adjacent the scavenging air outlet port while the second ends are disposed a distance therefrom to stage the negative pressure applied through the scavenging air outlet port.
