Occupational diseases of the lungs

Noxious gases, aerosols, or fumes are discussed which cause pulmonary diseases. The occupational sources and effects of the following pollutants are described: nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, phosgene, polyurethanes, bakelite, cadmium, zinc chloride, zinc oxide, mercury fumes, manganese oxide, insecticides such as toxaphene and parathion, nickel carbonyl, inhaled lipoids, chloromethyl methyl ether, and perchlorethylene. Symptoms and effects of the disease and some case histories are given.
