He--Ne ring laser with a methane absorbing cell

Experimental results are given on the width and amplitude of resonance in the power of a He--Ne ring laser with a methane absorbing cell as a function of detuning of resonance peaks at gain and absorption line centers, isotopic composition of the He--Ne mixture, and magnitude and phase of external backscattering. A comparison is made between the experimental and theoretical results.
