Even-odd effect of the pre-equilibrium emission in /sup 59/Co, /sup 60/Ni, /sup 63/Cu, /sup 64/Zn(. cap alpha. , p) reactions
The energy spectra of protons emitted in the /sup 63/Cu(..cap alpha.., p), /sup 64/Zn(..cap alpha.., p), /sup 60/Ni(..cap alpha.., p) reactions have been measured at E/sub ..cap alpha../ = 18 MeV. The experiment has shown that the fraction of the pre-equilibrium emission in odd-A targets is larger than those in even-even targets. The experimental results are analyzed by using the theory of exciton model. The even-odd effect on the pre-equilibrium emission in /sup 59/Co, /sup 60/Ni, /sup 63/Cu, /sup 64/Zn(..cap alpha.., p) reactions has been discussed in detail. The fraction of the pre-equilibrium emission depends on the related binding energies and pairing energies strongly, and these energies depend systematically on whether that nucleus is odd or even and how many neutrons are in the outer shell. The even-odd effect in the (..cap alpha.., n) reactions and other related problems have also been discussed. The conclusion is the same. Key words: Pre-equilibrium emission, exciton model, (..cap alpha.., p) reaction, even-odd effect.
