Correlated lecture laboratory series in diagnostic radiological physics. [Glossary biomedical radiography]
The physics series consists of nine lectures, each accompanied by a laboratory exercise correlated to its key points. This series has been designed as an aid to instructors in designing and presenting diagnostic radiological physics courses for radiology residents, student radiologic technologists, medical students, and others involved in the radiological process. Topics covered are: x-ray production and machine output; radiographic contrast; subject contrast; control of scattered radiation; intensifying screens; radiographic film: contrast and processing; quality assurance of automatic film processing; geometric factors in radiography; x-ray quality assurance; and reduction of unnecessary patient exposure. Appendix includes dose from roentgenography and fluoroscopy from the Atomic Bomb Casualty Commission. A glossary is also included. (PSB)
