Maxwell-Chern-Simons scalar QED with magnetic moment interactions

The interaction of scalar particles in 2+1 dimensions with a magnetic moment [lambda] and electric charge [ital e] is modeled by a generalized Chern-Simons term that couples the covariantly conserved current of the scalar field to the dual of the electromagnetic field strength. We show that in the nonrelativistic limit the correct Aharonov-Bohm and Aharonov-Casher phases are recovered, leading to an anomalous'' statistical phase of [ital e][lambda] even in the absence of the usual Chern-Simons term.
