Interaction of magnesium and uranyl chromates in aqueous solution

It was established that the phase composition of crystalline products of the reaction of magnesium and uranyl chromates in aqueous solutions depends on reactions of hydrolysis of uranyl ions and polymerization of chromate ions. The crystallographic characteristics of the synthesized Mg/sub 2/(UO/sub 2/)/sub 3/(CrO/sub 4/)/sup 5/ x 16H/sub 2/O, MgO x 3UO/sub 3/. 5H/sub 2/O and MgO x 4UO/sub 3/ x 8H/sub 2/O are cited, and hypotheses are advanced on their structure.
