Thermal conditions of flame guniting of 160- and 300-ton converters

Journal Article · · Refractories (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:6561005
The authors assess the characteristics of flame guniting as a lining process for refractories in furnaces used in metallurgy in the interest of finding combustion kinetic and control parameters that will allow them to optimize the efficiency of the process and the performance of the lining. They perform a thermal analysis and construct equations which model the thermodynamics of the flame and the interaction of the refractory particles with the furnace wall. Pulverized coal is the fuel tested.
