Using uniform casing string designs and well completion programs, Petroleos Mexicanos has been able to accelerate and optimize production of the Cretaceous fields discovered in the states of Chiapas and Tabasco. A typical well completion is illustrated showing both the casing string design and the packer settings with the production tubing tools. Also illustrated schematically is the well completion procedure on one of the better wells of the area (Samaria 81). By means of this completion, the well produces at the rate of approx. 18,000 bpd.
