At last, a treatment for New Mexico's Morrow Sand

Completion-stimulation programs employed in the Morrow Sand for removal of formation damage and for reservoir improvement have for years provided inconsistent if not generally unsatisfactory results. A success ratio of 35 to 40% might have been considered good, but for those instances where flow rate was reduced substantially as a result of treatment. Now, a new stimulation approach has been developed around a special acid-surfactant system appropriately named MS for Morrow Sand. Results to date have been especially good with the most encouraging aspect being the very low incidence of reduced flow following treatment. This approach has been successfully employed for well-bore damage removal, true stimulation by fracturing, and restoration of production following well work.
