Hydrogen compression with reciprocating compressors

Journal Article · · Hydrocarbon Process.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6554272
The increased use of hydrogen gas in refining and chemical plants, especially during the past two decades, has taught some useful lessons in the selection of equipment handling pressurized hydrogen. This is particularly true of hydrogen compressors. Proper selection and fitting of the compressor is one of the essentials of a satisfactory, highly reliable installation. During the period of growth in compressor requirements for hydrogen, there were many refinements and improvements in the design of the hydrogen compressor to improve efficiency and increase reliability.
