Classification of organic solutes in water by using macroreticular resin

A series of macroreticular resin adsorbents was tested for their ability to extract and fractionate organic solutes from natural waters. Based on the results, a dissolved organic fraction (DOC) analysis was developed, in which the DOC is concentrated and fractionated into acid, base, and neutral hydrophobic organic solute fractions and into acid, base, and neutral hydrophilic organic solute fractions.
