Application of holographic interferometry methods for qualitative investigation of gasdynamic flows with chemical reactions

The purpose of this paper is to show the possibility, in principle, of using holographic methods for subsequent quantitative investigations of chemically reacting flows that take place in chambers and nozzles of different configurations. Classical interferometry methods are barely suitable for studying combustion processes in chambers as they require optical windows that interfere with the flow. Interferograms by holography recording exhaust, mixing, and combustion processes for subsonic gas jets and tongues in the space of a chamber with a cylindrical transparent working section demonstrate a much higher quality image than is possible by classical means.
