The objective of the study was to assess the magnitude of the economic benefit or penalty associated with reducing the carbon conversion of KRW gasification in a plant designed to produce a pipeline gas from eastern bituminous coal. The results of the study indicate that reducing the carbon conversion of KRW gasification in a pipeline plant may not provide an economic advantage over a plant based on KRW gasification with a high carbon conversion, but there is no penalty associated with low carbon conversion.
