Laser pulse chirping and its compensation in a colliding-pulse mode-locked dye laser

Laser pulse chirping has been observed experimentally in our CPM laser. Using a prism-pair for intracavity compensation, we studied the effect of the group-velocity dispersion of the prism-pair on the pulse duration, stability, and the spectrum of the laser output pulse.
