Gasohol holds key to ethanol outlook

It is believed that if fermentation alcohol producers come close to or meet the US governments' proposed production goals, it is possible for spot market competition to develop in the industrial alcohol market. Gasohol alone holds the key to making ethanol a growth chemical and a number of incentives for gasohol production already exist. It is estimated that ethanol production for gasohol will not reach the original target of 320 million gallons by the end of 1980 and synthetic ethanol producers need not be concerned.
