A rapid experimental method is described that uses the solvency (density) properties of CO/sub 2/ and the actual stock-tank oil to determine the minimum miscibility pressure (MMP). The ''vapor-density'' method directly measures the density of the injection-gas-rich upper phase in contact with the crude oil as a function of pressure. This measurement correlates very well with the MMP from slim-tube experiments below about 110F (43C) and may be extended to higher reservoir temperatures.
